RECENT INVESTMENTS
PHOENIX RAIL
In January 2025, Arkadia partnered with Ancala Partners to form Phoenix Rail, a short line railroad holding company. Phoenix Rail’s first acquisition is Lehigh Valley Rail Management (LVRM), an owner and operator of rail and intermodal terminal infrastructure in Pennsylvania. Through its operations in Bethlehem and Johnstown, LVRM connects shippers to the national rail network, providing competitive access to three Class 1 railroads in North America: Norfolk Southern, CSX, and CPKC. The railroads are situated between multiple major metropolitan areas including New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington DC. Its intermodal terminal and freight services are critical for enabling the transportation of freight through Northeastern USA.
In July 2019, Arkadia Capital acquired Pioneer Lines in a take-private transaction that aligned its shareholders, board and management. Pioneer was a public company that operated 15 short line railroads serving the industrial base of 12 U.S. states. Within three years, Arkadia Capital grew Pioneer more than 40%, while providing an industry leading team the resources to modernize the company’s infrastructure, improve its efficiency, and create a culture of safety. Pioneer’s team was widely recognized for its leadership in safety and transforming its railroads into relevant and valuable partners to its customers and the communities in which it operates.
